About Me
Thrifting is a passion of mine. I have been a thrifter since I was young, going around thrift store after thrift store with my parents. It wasn't very trendy back in the 70's to thrift but as a three year old, I didn't know about being hip. I was concerned more about was how many Fisher Price Little People I could fit into my Fisher Price airplane. My love for Fisher Price didn't stop in my childhood. I have enjoyed searching for these now vintage toys for my two children. I adore searching for dish patterns to complete sets, feeling the texture of vintage fabrics especially antique quilts, and finding kitchen gadgets from the 50's. My latest interest and love is Mid Century Modern. Now I can add teak and Swedish pottery to my list of things to look for.
It's hard to remember a time when I didn't thrift. Spending four years in the UK didn't slow my interest in thrifting. I went from Garage Sales in the US to Boot Sales in the UK. Every Sunday morning designated fields would open up to cars and people would park in neat little English rows full of cow patties and muddy grass. We would shop for items out of the "boot" (trunk) of the car.
I currently reside in beautiful Sonoma County with my two children, British husband, small flock of chickens, a tortie cat and a corgi puppy.
